I was 4 months CGM when I booked an appointment with Victoria. I was at the salon for about 2 hours, and I like the haircut she gave me, but I left with my hair looking thin and stringy. Most importantly though, I felt like an afterthought. Victoria had two assistants working with her, and the three of them spoke frequently without talking much to me. I heard them talk about medical appointments, issues with staffing, and other topics, all while carelessly doing my hair (e.g., a woman diffusing my hair and pushing the hairdryer painfully against my head while she was texting and talking to someone else). I’ll give Victoria credit for trying to make me feel better about my hair at the conclusion of our appointment (which I hated), and offering to have me come back in a few weeks if I still disliked it, but I have had better experiences with many other stylists and don’t ever see myself going back to this salon

Victoria has cut my hair three times now. Each time she asks me what I like about my hair and what I’d like to do differently which has been great since I’ve gotten new styling techniques for “quick”, “volume”, and “looking good”. I appreciate her knowledge and passion for what she does—teaching me about my hair and how best to care for it throughout my visit. I never feel rushed and always am well attended to by Victoria and her assistants. If you’re in the St. Louis area, or within a couple of hours, she’s worth the drive!

Finding a new salon and stylist can be nerve-racking, but going to Victoria at Governo Salons was an amazing experience for me, and an awakening experience for my curly hair. I am thrilled with the results, and I'll definitely be back!

I have 3c curly hair and in the past I’ve chosen stylists based on who was least likely to do damage to my hair. Victoria totally changed that! She is an expert on curls. A friend posted a picture from her Instagram (@loveallcurls) and I was blown away. Booked an apt immediately. That cut was incredible! She got me started on the curly girl method and even before I committed to CGM, my cut was A+. This week I went back for a second cut and for Pintura highlights. Gorgeous!!!! She is so thorough, patient, and thoughtful— literally going curl by curl and making sure each is up to her standards. I feel so pampered after years of “meh” haircuts and my curls look and feel healthier than ever. Thanks Victoria!
