I’m honestly not even sure how often she actually cuts and styles ethnic curly hair. What she did to my hair I would say, not often at all. I am so distraught for how uneven she cut my hair. I sent pictures in ahead of time and the receptionist assured me she is devacut certified and would not have any problems cutting and styling my hair. When I got to the salon and sat down she looked over my hair and reassured me that she could do it with no problem. I told her that I wanted the shape of a curly Afro and showed her two pictures. She glanced at the pictures but didn’t look very long as though she did it frequently and said “oh yeah, curly Afro. I know what you mean, I can definitely do that.” When I say it’s like she was pretending to be Edward scissor hands or something....my hair is completely uneven! There’s even parts of the bangs that are more than an inch different, it’s ridiculous! Now the style, I’m not sure if she even ever styles curly hair for real. She put the product in my hair and didn’t even comb it through after washing and conditioning, not even with her fingers. Everyone with curly hair knows you need to comb your hair through with product while styling. It’s a must or the curls will not be defined. I normally shy away from writing bad reviews but I’m sorry, it was such a terrible job and she had so much confidence. I don’t want other people with type 3b/3c hair getting their hair botched like I did. I am so sad. I don’t even know what to do with my hair now and I’m so nervous to go to anyone else. Please rethink your ability to cut super curly hair before you do this to someone else.
